Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning
The Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning (GCTL) is intended to provide participants with a combination of formal pedagogical training, practical experience, and mentoring that will prepare them to be effective college teachers and instructors. Microcredential in Evidence-based Pedagogy
The microcredential program offers a series of curated workshops on evidence-based pedagogy to provide just-in-time preparation for key tasks associated with roles such as teaching assistant and graduate instructor of record. The program is designed to complement the Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning and to offer accelerated pedagogical development for graduate students and postdocs when other commitments preclude them from pursuing Certificate courses. Graduate Fellow Specialty Workshops
Every academic year, our Graduate Fellows develop and facilitate interactive workshops on a variety of teaching and learning topics. These workshops provide a deep dive into topics ranging from instruction to assessment across teaching contexts and provide a space to reflect on and discuss teaching and learning with peers from across the disciplines. Every semester, CTE faculty facilitate an interactive workshop designed to help graduate students and post-doctoral scholars prepare for the academic job market.

Graduate Fellowships

Graduate Instructor of Record and Teaching Assistant Training
Graduate and post-doctoral students who will be responsible for teaching their own course at Rice may enroll in our asynchronous, self-paced training through Canvas. See the Self-paced Courses page for more information and enrollment links.
