Undergraduate
In 2006, Rice began offering student-taught courses (STCs) through the residential colleges in order to provide undergraduates with a chance to teach fellow students about subjects in which they consider themselves to be an expert. The CTE teaches an undergraduates pedagogy course (COLL 300) that is required for all STC instructors and also oversees all of the STCs offered in a given semester.
Graduate
The CTE offers four graduate-level UNIV courses:
- UNIV 500: Principles of Effective College Teaching (offered every Fall)
- UNIV 501: Research in Teaching and Learning (offered every Spring)
- UNIV 502: Practicum in College Teaching (offered in both Fall and Spring)
- UNIV 599: Teaching Portfolio (offered in both Fall and Spring)
Together, these courses make up the Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning - an accredited certificate program open to all graduate and post-doctoral students in good standing. If you would like to indicate your interest in one or more of these courses, please fill out this form.
