Graduate Teaching Award for Independent Instruction
Each year, the Center for Teaching Excellence, with the generous support of the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, recognizes two graduate students for outstanding independent instruction.
All graduate students and alumni who were Graduate Instructors of Record during the previous academic year, and who have not yet won the award, are eligible to apply. The first-round application is due by October 15th at 11:59 pm. Please click "Learn More & Apply" for details and a link to the application form.
A committee of CTE Graduate Fellows will review the applications and select six finalists. On December 5th finalists will be notified and asked to submit a teaching portfolio by February 1st. A committee of CTE Faculty Fellows will select two winners by March 10th.
If you were an instructor of record in the Fall of 2023, Spring of 2024, or Summer of 2024, you are eligible to apply for the 2025 Graduate Teaching Award for Independent Instruction.
