CTE Faculty Fellow and Associate Teaching Professor Sandy Parsons shares her favorite research papers in pedagogical sciences and discusses how that research has influenced her teaching. Dr. Parsons has taught multiple graduate and undergraduate courses in pedagogy, and is a three-time recipient of the George R. Brown Award for Superior Teaching as well as a winner of the Nicholas Salgo Distinguished Teacher Award. Access her slides and references here.

The intersection of AI-based writing programs with student writing and assignments has dominated higher ed news and listservs since ChatGPT launched on Nov. 30th. Likewise, many Rice faculty have shared questions and concerns about student use of ChatGPT. Join three of your Rice colleagues with varied academic perspectives as they provide insight into what AI-assisted writing means and share strategies for how to talk to students about the program in both conceptual and practical ways.
