AI Education Panel & Open Discussion: April 1, 2026 | Callan Monette

As instructors, we are grappling with the impact of AI in our classrooms in real time, trying to make sense of its implications for student learning. With this in mind, the Faculty Fellows of the CTE believe it is more important than ever to offer spaces in which we can share our perspectives, explore a variety of pedagogical approaches (including ways to incorporate as well as to resist AI), and learn from our peers. Please join us for an open conversation about the role of AI in education, organized by faculty and for faculty. We will be joined by Rice faculty members who have thought deeply about the role of AI in the classroom, and will hold a brief panel Q&A with them followed by an opportunity for breakout discussions among attendees. Please come prepared with your questions, uncertainties, and ideas!
